Playworker

What is a

Playworker?

A Playworker's mission is to nurture children's independence and creativity, fostering dynamic and adventurous play environments in diverse settings, where children lead the way, shaping their own learning and exploration experiences.

Playworkers are the silent architects of childhood joy, expertly orchestrating play environments where children lead their own adventures. They keenly observe each child's unique needs and preferences, fostering emerging skills and enriching the play landscape. With a watchful eye, they assess risks and benefits, allowing children to naturally push their boundaries. They collaborate closely with a diverse range of stakeholders, from families and healthcare professionals to community members and emergency services. As a united team, Playworkers champion play's importance, maintain safety standards, and ensure accessibility for all children, regardless of their abilities. This dynamic role revolves around promoting self-directed play, nurturing non-hierarchical relationships, and continuously enhancing the quality of play provision
