Join our dynamic team at In2assessments as an freelance assessor. We welcome applications across Standards for qualified, occupationally competent professionals that are passionate about learning and development to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our  end point assessment processes.

 

About the role:

We are looking for experienced professionals to join our team of freelance assessors, for the following areas

  • Outdoor Activity Instructor L3 & Outdoor Learning Specialist L5

  • Early Years Educator Level 2 to Level 5

  • Community Activator Coach Level 2

  • Business Administration Level 3

  • Team Leader Level 3

  • Operations Manager L5

  • Customer Service Level 2 & Level 3

Assessments involve a  face to face & remote assessments, familiarity Teams is required, along with flexibility to travel to assessment locations.  Allocation of assessments is maximized to be as effective and complete in the same locations on the same day.

 

Assessments  dates agreed with employers and apprentice, ensuring the apprentices knows the format of the assessments and has timings and questions answered. 

Independent end-point assessors are responsible for conducting the assessment, recording outcomes  and submitting the EPA outcomes and grade, with clear justifications for the grading decisions to In2assessments IT system for Quality Assurance audits.  

 

Your input will directly contribute to shaping the future of apprentices and their successful transition to the next stage of their careers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The independent end-point assessor will:

  • Be fully inducted, take part in regular training and Standardisation activities, associated with the role of independent end-point assessor.

  • Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

  • Assess the performance of candidates in accordance with published Assessment Plan for the selected Apprenticeship Standards including grading to ensure overall standards are maintained.

  • Follow the protocols set out in In2assessments specifications, assessment materials and quality assurance protocols, relating to the EPAs.

  • Maintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes.

  • Report all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to the EPA Manager, including any suspected malpractice/maladministration.

  • Ensure all EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and recorded accurately.

  • Support the EPA Manager, if necessary, with any appeals regarding assessment decisions

  • Liaise with the EPA Manager to arrange End Point Assessments, accommodation and travel as required.

  • Declare any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment.

  • Contribute to the external quality assurance activities undertaken by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education, Ofqual and other Stakeholders.

Person Specification
Essential Background and Experience

  • Evidence of assessing staff or learner competence, against nationally accredited standards at the appropriate levels

  • To hold an assessor qualification (e.g.  CAVA, A1, TAQA etc.) and as required by the Apprenticeship Standard Assessment Plan

  • Experience of using a diverse range of assessment methods, making assessment decisions and grading

  • Detailed knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards, Assessments Plans

  • Current occupational competence

  • Evidence of maintaining CPD.

  • Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements

  • Current driving license and ability to travel to locations.

Desirable Background and Experience

  • Current Enhanced DBS -  preferably registered to update services

  • Knowledge of prevent & safeguarding.

Essential Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to understand and respond to the individual needs and circumstances of employers/apprentices.

  • Sufficient and relevant technical knowledge as required by the Apprenticeship Standard

  • Ability to assess and grade, free from bias.

  • Ability to assess and report risks.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.
