Assessor
Associate Independent End-Point Assessors - Outdoor Activity Instructor Level 3 - Freelance / £125 per candidate + travel expenses.
Join our dynamic team at In2assessments as an associate assessor. We seek professionals passionate about learning and development to ensure the quality and effectiveness of our assessment processes.
About the role:
We are looking for experienced professionals to join our team of freelance assessors, for the Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor. Assessments involve a practical face to face observation so some travel to assessment locations will be required. Well planned assessments can be completed within half a day so on occasions two candidates could be assessed on the same day at the same location.
Assessments will be conducted onsite, on dates agreed with employers. Independent end-point assessors will record and submit the EPA outcomes, with clear justifications for the grading decisions. EPA activities will be quality assured by the Lead IQA appointed by In2Assessments.
Your input will directly contribute to shaping the future of apprentices and their successful transition to the next stage of their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
The independent end-point assessor will:

Take part in regular training and standardisation activities, associated with the role of independent end-point assessor for this EPA.

Maintain and provide evidence of ongoing, relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

Assess the performance of candidates in accordance with published Assessment Plan for the selected Apprenticeship Standards including grading to ensure overall standards are maintained.

Follow the protocols set out in In2assessments specifications, assessment materials and quality assurance protocols, relating to the EPAs.

Maintain service-level agreements with regards to responding to EPA planning, operational activities, reports, and submissions of assessment outcomes.

Report all risks and issues encountered during the end-point assessment to the Head of In2A, including any suspected malpractice/maladministration.

Ensure all EPA reports and assessment evidence are high quality and recorded accurately.

Support the Head of In2A, if necessary, with any appeals from apprentices, regarding assessment decisions

Liaise with the EPA Manager to arrange and travel to EPA appointments.

Raise any conflicts of interest, including in relation to the independence of assessment.

Contribute to the external quality assurance activities undertaken by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
Person Specification
Essential Background and Experience
-
Evidence of assessing staff or learner competence, against nationally accredited standards to at least Level 3.

To hold an assessor qualification (e.g. CAVA, A1, TAQA etc.)

Experience of using a diverse range of assessment methods and evidence

Detailed knowledge of Apprenticeship Standards in Health & Science
-
Current practicing outdoor practitioner – must be involved in regular employed/volunteer senior role within an organisation.

Evidence of commitment to maintaining CPD.

Experience of complying with quality assurance/regulatory requirements
-
Current driving license and ability to travel to locations. We currently looking for assessors located in the Northeast, Midlands, Norfolk and the South to include: Kent, Isle of Wight and North Devon.

We are also keen to receive applications from candidates with a background in Bushcraft and Field Studies as well as the traditional Outdoor Activities.
